Abstract

Domestic and foreign practice of application of chromiumcontaining refractories for basalt melting is analyzed. It is shown that only chromium-containing refractories are used for lining of furnace units in the zone of maximum temperatures. It is also noted that besides ceramic refractories and fused materials are used. It is shown that fused high-chromium refractory HMG on corrosion resistance in basalt melt is at the level of chromium oxide refractory.
