Abstract

The choice of Pathology as a specialty by Australian graduating medical students is impacted by many factors. This study seeks to identify what these factors are with the aim of understanding the potential barriers to increasing the number of students choosing Pathology as a career. To achieve this, we surveyed 15 universities across Australia via a survey titled ‘Choice of Career Path after Medical Training’. We had 196 respondents, with the majority from The Australian National University and the University of Queensland Medical Schools.
