Abstract

Sponsored by the Public Health Committee of Chinese Medical Association and published by the Chinese Medical Association, the Chinese Health Monthly started publication in Shanghai in 1939 and the chairman of the Public Health Committee of Chinese Medical Association, HUANG Zifang, was appointed as the chief editor. Clear in its column setting, comprehensive in contents and strict with scrutiny of the advertisements, this journal had excellent texts, pictures and English abstracts. WANG Jimin and YU Xinen served as chief editors and issuers after the death of HUANG Zifang and made contributions to the development of the journal. Due to economic distress and wars, there have been great difficulties in publication of the Chinese Health Monthly. The publication was finally stopped in 1951 for adjustment of academic societies and journals.
