Abstract

Purpose: Safety rounds provide a venue for discussing safety concerns, identifying and facilitating solutions for safety issues, and educating staff about patient safety concepts. They also allow the team to obtain and act on information that identifies areas for improvement. This increases awareness of safety issues among all healthcare staff. Further, there is opportunity to work with families to engage them in advocacy and safety.
