Abstract

Summary Three hundred thirty seven mothers and 307 fathers completed the Child Rearing Practices Questionnaire (CRPQ). Children of these parents were given the High School Personality Questionnaire (HSPQ) and factor scores derived from the CRPQ were used in regression equations to predict each of the HSPQ variables in turn. It was found that the majority of the personality variables could be significantly predicted from the child-rearing practices measures.
