Abstract

Increasing attention on fostering future scientists has lead to a variety of sometimes controversial solutions. One solution that has been agreed upon is the needs for scientists to become involved with pre-college education. The program described in this paper works towards goals such as developing students perception of science as exciting and challenging, appreciation of science as useful, consideration of science as a career, and involving undergraduate and graduate science students in explaining and promoting science.
