Abstract

Abstract Calumet seed were planted on Jul 25’77 following normal site preparation and fertilization. Rows were 42” apart. Single row 40’ plots were used with 4 replicates for each treatment. Experimental sprays were applied with a 2 gal hand sprayer, directed onto the silk, on alternate days from silking until harvest. Spray dates were Sep 12, 14, 17, 19, 21, 23, 25 and 28. A total of 20 ears per replicate (80 per treatment) were harvested and evaluated for damage on Sep 29. An ear was rated damaged if any corn earworm damage was observed. Pest population was severe as indicated by damage to untreated ears.
