Abstract

Toluene-3,4-dithiol (TDTH 2) reacts with [Mo(NO)LX 2] (X = OEt or I; L = HB(3,5-Me 2C 3N 2H) 3) to produce the chelate complex [Mo(NO)L(TDT)]. This complex is reduced at a potential more anodic than its non-chelated counterpart [Mo(NO)L(SPh) 2]. The reaction between [Mo(NO)LI 2] and 1,2-diaminobenzene affords the bimetallic complex [{Mo(NO)LI} 2(1,2-(NH) 2C 6H 4)]. This reaction and that of [Mo(NO)LI 2] with 2-aminobenzenethiol also produce products in which partial degradation of the tripodal ligand L has occurred with one dimethyl pyrazolyl group being lost.
