With the rapid development of science and technology, artificial intelligence has gradually entered the field of people’s lives, and human society has entered the era of intelligence. Among them, the application of artificial intelligence in the field of news communication is also becoming more and more extensive. Intelligent media technology can help news media acquire information, analyze data, generate content, and improve the efficiency and quality of news dissemination more quickly and accurately. Traditional news gathering requires manual browsing of a large number of information sources to filter out valuable information. Artificial intelligence technology can quickly extract useful content from a large amount of information through natural language processing, machine learning, and other technologies, providing more comprehensive and accurate information to the news media. At the same time, the emergence of artificial intelligence also brings some disadvantages to the news industry, for example, machine news writing is limited by technical rules, which affects the existence of its limitations. This paper will therefore discuss three aspects of the changes brought about by AI in the media industry - the structure of communication, communication technology, and communication philosophy - as well as the ethical and legal issues involved in AI in the media industry. Firstly, the researcher aims to understand the problems in the application of AI in the field of journalism and communication. Secondly, the research theory used in this article is the diffusion of innovation theory. Developed by Rogers in the 1960s, this theory states that some people will be more open-minded and more willing to accept innovations than others when it comes to innovation. Again, the research method used in this article is a qualitative research method of web-based text analysis. Ultimately, the researcher identified three problems: the content of the research was superficial, the emergence of smart media broke the traditional media compliance under ethical laws, and the inadequate mechanism for nurturing talent. Based on these problems, the researcher proposed solutions, which were to conduct an in-depth analysis of the application of artificial intelligence in the communication industry, to develop laws and regulations that comply with the application of intelligent media in the communication field, and to train high-end talents who can use artificial intelligence.

The emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) has ushered in an era of unprecedented possibilities and, at the same time, poses significant threats in the media landscape. As a potent tool, AI can streamline operations, offering innovative solutions like content personalization, predictive analytics, and augmented reality experiences that can enhance user engagement and boost the media industry’s economic viability. These opportunities allow for a more immersive and personalized user experience, leveraging data to create content that is finely tuned to individual preferences and trends. However, the integration of AI in media does not come without its challenges. The threat of deep fakes and the dissemination of misinformation stand as substantial concerns, with AI technologies facilitating the creation of highly convincing fake content that can manipulate perceptions and sow discord. Moreover, the autonomy given to AI systems can potentially lead to job displacements and raise ethical concerns regarding privacy and data security. Despite these threats, when wielded responsibly and ethically, AI can usher in a new golden age for media characterized by creativity, efficiency, and innovation. As the media industry stands at this crossroads, it must navigate the fine balance between leveraging AI’s opportunities and mitigating its potential threats, fostering a landscape that upholds truth, ethics, and human value at its core. It is imperative for stakeholders to collaborate, devising strategies and regulatory frameworks to ensure AI serves as a force for good, steering media towards a future that embodies progress and inclusivity.

Anxiety disorders are among the most prevalent mental health conditions globally, causing significant personal and societal burdens. Traditional therapies, while effective, often face barriers such as limited accessibility, high costs, and the stigma associated with seeking mental health care. The emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots offers a novel solution by providing accessible, cost-effective, and immediate support for individuals experiencing anxiety. This comprehensive review examines the evolution, efficacy, advantages, limitations, challenges, and future perspectives of AI chatbots in the treatment of anxiety disorders. A methodologically rigorous literature search was conducted across multiple databases, focusing on publications from 2010 to 2024 that evaluated AI chatbot interventions targeting anxiety symptoms. Empirical studies demonstrate that AI chatbots can effectively reduce anxiety symptoms by delivering therapeutic interventions like cognitive-behavioral therapy through interactive and personalized dialogues. The advantages include increased accessibility without geographical or temporal limitations, reduced costs, and an anonymity that encourages openness and reduces stigma. However, limitations persist, such as the lack of human empathy, ethical and privacy concerns related to data security, and technical challenges in understanding complex human emotions. The key challenges identified involve enhancing the emotional intelligence of chatbots, integrating them with traditional therapy, and establishing robust ethical frameworks to ensure user safety and data protection. Future research should focus on improving AI capabilities, personalization, cultural adaptation, and user engagement. In conclusion, AI chatbots represent a promising adjunct in treating anxiety disorders, offering scalable interventions that can complement traditional mental health services. Balancing technological innovation with ethical responsibility is crucial to maximize their potential benefits.

Journalism and mass media complement each other. With the superficial time, the ever-new coordination of mass media and technology has brought about a dynamic change in journalism and mass media. This change is not only reflected in the writing on any topic, problem or event, but the way of its presentation has also decidedly changed. Artificial Intelligence is also the latest information presentation technology, which on one hand has made news presentation accessible on various topics, on the contrary, the basis of its inherent capabilities; it has raised questions on human intellectual capacity and credibility. The maneuver of robot news anchors for presentation of news by many national and international media channels is just one example of this. Apart from information communication, in the field of social communication, there remains a fine line between realities and virtually, which requires additional skills to know and understand. The present chapter “Future of Media after emergence of Artificial Intelligence: Issues and Challenges” is an attempt to analyze the issues and challenges arising on the topic of use of Artificial Intelligence in future media.

The emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) has revolutionised higher education teaching and learning. AI has the power to analyse large amounts of data and make intelligent predictions thus changing the whole teaching and learning processes. However, such a rise has led to institutions questioning the morality of these applications. The changes have left librarians and educators worried about the major ethical questions surrounding privacy, equality of information, protection of intellectual property, cheating, misinformation and job security. Libraries have always been concerned about ethics and many go out of their way to make sure communities are educated about the ethical question. However, the emergence of artificial intelligence has caught them unaware. This research investigates the preparedness of higher education librarians to support the ethical use of information within the higher and tertiary education fraternity. A qualitative approach was used for this study. Interviews were done with thirty purposively selected librarians and academics from universities in Zimbabwe. Findings indicated that many university libraries in Zimbabwe are still at the adoption stage of artificial intelligence. It was also found that institutions and libraries are not yet prepared for AI use and are still crafting policies on the use of AI. Libraries seem prepared to adopt AI. They are also prepared to offer training on how to protect intellectual property but have serious challenges in issues of transparency, data security, plagiarism detection and concerns about job losses. However, with no major ethical policies having been crafted on AI use, it becomes challenging for libraries to full adopt its usage.
