Abstract
The objective of this report was to (a) determine if charge-transfer reactions occurred in IMS (ion mobility spectrometry), (b) explore trends in charge-transfer selectivity in binary mixtures of aromatic hydrocarbons, (c) quantify behavior of photoionization-IMS response curves, and (d) compare these events to CI (chemical ionization) selectivity of the same compounds. Aromatic hydrocarbons were chosen for convenient comparison of results with prior findings in PI-IMS.
