Abstract

The Center for Earth and Planetary Physics, Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts, is sponsoring an informal one‐day conference on the theory and observation of charge transfer in minerals on Saturday, April 21, 1973, following the Fifty‐Fourth Annual Meeting of AGU. This conference is part of the Center's activity in bringing together scientists from across the traditional barriers between scientific disciplines. The Center is a joint venture between Harvard's Division of Engineering and Applied Physics and the Department of Geological Sciences, and it includes geologists, solid‐earth geophysicists, atmospheric physicists, oceanographers, and meteorologists. In this case, it is hoped that mineralogists and geophysicists together with solid‐state physicists and chemists will acquaint each other with some related problems and solutions in their respective fields.
