Abstract

The characteristics of the ZnO/Si monolithic SAW convolver with MIS-Transistor structure have been investigated. The convolution output of the present convolver is controlled by the combination of the dc junction bias and the dc gate bias. It has been found that the nonlinearity caused by the carrier flow in the surface channel can be used to generate convolution output when all the junctions are biased with the same voltage. When the junctions are biased in the same way as in a MIS Transistor, the quadratic characteristics of the drain saturation current vs. the gate bias give rise to effective convolution output.
