Abstract

Output power, cell efficiency, that is energy conversion efficiency in a DMFC (Direct Methanol Fuel Cells) are examined targeting mainly application for a small size power source to be used for such portable instrument as a mobile phone and a personal computer. Simultaneously methanol cross over that is one of most affective parameter on the output power and efficiency in DMFC is measured to understand the characteristics. In this study effect of thickness of electrolyte that js main specifications of MEA (Membrane Electrode Assembly) and such operating parameter as methanol concentration, cell working temperature and amount of supplied air in cathode are examined.
