Abstract

This chapter presents an introduction to reservoir-fluid types and properties along with a full description regarding retrograded gas-condensate reservoir-fluid characterization. Moreover, this chapter provides useful information about flow regimes in the gas-condensate reservoirs and problems during condensate production. In this chapter, a thorough description of most common equations of state along with their advantages and drawbacks, and calculation procedures are provided. In this regard, several real field examples are provided. The present chapter provides a detailed description of gas properties including gas viscosity, gas density, gas compressibility factor, gas-formation volume factor, equilibrium ratio, and dew-point pressure. For this goal, this chapter presents empirical correlations and equations of state for calculating different gas properties along with real field examples. Finally, at the end of the chapter, several useful problems are provided.
