Abstract

Coexistence of core superfluids with pion condensates in neutron star interior is studied for the neutral (π 0 ), charged (π c ) and coexistent (π 0 p c ) pion condensations, for which we adopt the simple model only with the π-N P-wave interaction described in Chapter III. Main points of the results obtained are: (1) Under the π 0 condensation, the neutron 3 P 2 -type superfluidity and the proton 1 S 0 -type one can exist with energy gaps of the same order of magnitude as those realized from the normal phase, (2) under the π c condensation, the quasi-neutron 3 P 2 superfluidity persists although considerable attenuation occurs, and (3) under the π 0 p c condensation, the quasi-neutron 3 P 2 -dominant superfluidity can exist without substantial reduction of energy gaps
