Abstract

This chapter focuses on three programs and their related institutions in the Sathya Sai Baba movement. The first is a program of healing and includes a hospital that was founded at Puttaparthi and two Sri Sathya Sai Institutes of Higher Medical Sciences - one in Puttaparthi and the other in Bangalore. The second program is service carried out through the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organization with its branches in different states in India and other countries. The third program is pedagogic in nature including the Sri Sathya Sai Arts and Science College for Women in Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh, a similar institution for men in Brindavan near Bangalore city and Puttaparthi, the Summer Course in Indian culture and spirituality, the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, and the initiative called Educare.
