Abstract

In the last few years, several researchers have focused on answering the question of how innovative behavior, the basis of creativity, may be favored evolutionarily. In primates, a group characterized with large brains and examples of outstanding cognitive capabilities, there seems to be a large amount of support linking encephalization and innovation. However, the question of why some species are more innovative than others of similar brain size remains unclear.
