Abstract
Token economies and other contingency systems are commonly used within the Autism Partnership Method. In this chapter, we describe common components of token systems, the advantages and disadvantages of token systems, and recommendations on implementing a progressive approach to token systems. Relevant research related to a progressive approach to contingency systems as well as clinical recommendations for a progressive approach to token systems is discussed.
