Continuity and recovery strategies are cornerstones of a Business Continuity Management System but their need to be mapped to the results of the Business Impact Analysis and Risk Assessment is often unrecognized by many Business Continuity Managers. The failure to recognize this relationship results in strategies that may be less than cost effective, may not completely achieve the goal to continue the activities of prioritized functions, and will not meet the requirements of the standards.
