Abstract

Besides the concern of the environmental safety, water environmental security holds high research interest, as well. It seems that nano-titania photocatalysis can not only prevent environmental pollution from the sources but also reserve the fundamental productions in the industry. It is a fact that the environmental safety is being retested concerning the applications of nano particle photocatalytic technology. The importance is attached to the applications of nano-titania photocatalytic technology in wastewater treatment and the most recent accomplishments are deposited to the scientific research of nano-particle photocatalytic technology in wastewater treatment. Wastewaters impurities mainly involve suspended, supersaturated sulfites, sulfates and heavy metals. Many of the above are considered to be primary pollutants and thus it is demanded those to be harshly conducted by national environmental standards. The photocatalysis presented overwhelming dominance regarding the wastewater treatment. Grounded in the photocatalytic mechanism and the kinetics, the photocatalytic process comprises primary reaction process and secondary reaction process, and the wastewater degraded with photocatalysts is studied in this chapter.
