Abstract

Owing to their versatility and ability to measure diffusion of almost any species, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) diffusion measurements have become the method of choice for the determination of diffusion in samples ranging from gases and pure fluids to electrolytes and ionic liquids. They can be conducted on free solutions as well as within porous systems including biological tissue. This chapter gives a general overview of the theory, complications and developments in NMR diffusion measurements.
