Abstract

This chapter introduces how using the chinmedomics method explored the manner in which constituents were absorbed into the blood, after oral administration of Yinchenhao Tang (YCHT) and its therapeutic effect, as well as, potentially active constituents. With the serum pharmacochemistry of TCM, a total of 21 peaks were tentatively characterized in vivo, 19 of which were parent components, and two of which were detected as metabolites. Of note, YCHT has a potential pharmacological effect through regulating multiple perturbed pathways to the normal state. Three potentially active constituents that had a trend toward a highly correlated effect were screened; by the plotting of a correlation between marker metabolites, and the serum constituents (PCMS) in YCHT. The present study was successfully applied for rapid discovery of potentially bioactive components and metabolites from YCHT, and proved that the established method could help to explore the effective substance for further research of formulae.
