Abstract
Over time, pharmaceuticals have been available in different dosage forms. However, despite the wide range of delivery systems available, the demand for oral solid dosage forms remains unparalleled and dominant in the pharmaceutical as well as nutraceutical industries. The nutraceutical market almost exclusively focuses on oral administration for dietary supplements. In the pharmaceutical industry, solid dosage forms are still the golden standard for patients in terms of convenience and versatility. However, conventional solid dosage forms, such as tablets and capsules, often face challenges in terms of the bioavailability, solubility, and release profiles of the active pharmaceutical ingredients. Therefore there is a need for innovative approaches to design and develop solid dosage forms that can overcome these limitations and provide tailored therapies for individual patients.
