Abstract

The student voice has recently gained significant prominence as a measure of the quality of learning and teaching. Various evaluation tools are now used in many countries to evaluate the student experience, such as questionnaires introduced by the governments in the United Kingdom, Sweden and Australia. The Higher Education Funding Council of England in the United Kingdom uses the results of the National Student Survey to publish institutional performance data for public access. The Australian government has implemented three national surveys to measure the experience of various stakeholders including current students, graduates and employers. Interestingly, the new quality and regulatory framework in Australia uses student experience measures to assess the quality of student experience and the result is now available for public access through the new Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (http://www.qilt.edu.au/) Website.
