Abstract
This chapter provides a commentary of the extant literature on airline efficiency and productivity performance based on the nonparametric approach of data envelopment analysis (DEA) model. The models covered in this chapter are the standard DEA model, the cost and profit efficiency models; the productivity change models, DEA models that incorporate bad output, network DEA models, other variations of DEA models and DEA models that include a second-stage regression analysis.
