Abstract

•Evaluate the results of statistical tests concerning count-data models.•Differentiate the negative binomial regression models from the Poisson models.•Understand the concept of overdispersion in the data, and implement the test for identification of overdispersion in the data of the dependent variable, conditioned on its predictor variables (covariates).•Estimate zero-inflated regression models, and implement the Vuong test to verify the existence of excessive amount of zeros in the dependent variable.•Estimate count-data regression models in R and interpret the results.
