Abstract

Microreactor technology has attracted a great deal of attention owing to the high control over the reaction parameters and the potential to use harsh reaction conditions. This chapter presents an overview of the advantages of microreactor technology for cross-coupling chemistry. The advantages and disadvantages of different catalyst sources that can be used in continuous flow are described. The chapter is divided into different cross-coupling subclasses, e.g. carbon–carbon and carbon–heteroatom bond formation. For each class, the different continuous flow protocols are described. Special emphasis is dedicated to the advantages of continuous flow over the batch counterparts.
