Abstract
This chapter focuses on the simulation applications in PRCDS from the perspective of management. As a fundamental issue, a freight traffic routing problem in PRCDS is selected to demonstrate how simulation technology can be useful in PRCDS management at a network level. Then, considering the dynamic and random characteristics of PRCDS influenced by real-time traffic information provision, a heterogeneous analysis that emphasizes on the improvement of traffic management relying on real-time information provision will be introduced. Finally, as an example of digging into the micro traffic organization in PRCDS, simulation application in traffic analysis and management at decussation intersections is provided in detail.
