Abstract

This chapter focuses on risky decision making and related behaviors among individuals diagnosed with a schizophrenia spectrum disorder; however, much of the research to date focuses on schizophrenia rather than other disorders. The current status of the literature is reviewed, with a close examination of factors that might contribute to inconsistencies in comparisons to control groups. Potential contributions of age of symptom onset, medication usage, type of current symptoms, and performance on other executive function tasks are considered.
