Abstract

Carbon nanotube (CNT) yarns are a promising candidate for flexible actuators, also known as artificial muscles, owing to their unique combination of properties, including high mechanical strength, electrical and thermal conductivity, electrochemical activity, specific surface area, and corrosion resistivity. This chapter presents a brief review on the types of CNT yarn-based actuators reported in recent years and their energy conversion mechanisms, performance metrics, and potential applications.
