Abstract

Abstract In order to clarify the effect of land use change on species diversity in the forests of northern Thailand, this chapter examines the differences in available plant resources in fallow regrowth ranging in age from the cessation of swidden cultivation to nine years old in a village where swidden cultivation was continuing at the time of the study, and in another village where swidden cultivation had ceased more than 20 years earlier.
