Abstract

Changes in fibrinolytic activity (FA) were investigated and followed for 4 hours after brief exhaustive maximal exercise in sedentary males. Sixteen volunteer, healthy, nonsmoking subjects aged 23.0±3.9 (19-30) performed a maximal cycling exercise to exhaustion. Euglobulin lysis time (ELT), fibrin plate lysis area (FPLA), fibrinogen (F), tissue-type plasminogen activator (tPA), pH and lactate (L) concentrations in plasma were measured before, immediately, and one and four hours after the exercise.
