Abstract

Industrial engineering is facing both challenges and opportunities in the era of intelligent manufacturing under the environment of Internet of things and big data. Meanwhile intelligent problem solving in industrial engineering is becoming an important research direction. On the cross study of Extenics and industrial engineering, we analyze the extension intelligent technology and methods of extenics to solve complex problems almost run through the whole process from customer management, manufacturing, logistics and after service in industry. Extenics provides a new methodology for deep integration of extension data mining on industrial engineering data and artificial intelligence for complex problem solving, which may form a new direction of Extension industrial engineering (EIE) with wide application prospects. The case study proves the feasibility and effectiveness of our new methods and its models.
