Abstract The International Symposium for Testing and Failure Analysis (ISTFA) is the premier event for scientists and engineers who work to evaluate failures and improve the performance and reliability of semiconductor devices and processing techniques. This editorial is a look back at ISTFA over the years from the first gathering in 1975. It includes a table listing the ISTFA general chairs for each annual symposium.
