Abstract

This chapter is a comprehensive review on the catalytic asymmetric hydrosilylation. The mechanism of transition metal-catalyzed hydrosilylation of alkenes is discussed. Asymmetric hydrosilylation of styrene and its derivatives, 1,3-dienes, alkyl-substituted alkenes, and cyclic alkenes is covered in detail. Finally, asymmetric intramolecular hydrosilylation and asymmetric cyclization–hydrosilylation are also addressed.
