Abstract
Enzyme control by their products facilitates cellular homeostasis, but for phospholipids, feedback mechanisms also arise from changes in membrane physical properties. In this issue of Developmental Cell, Haider etal. (2018) show that in many actively growing cells, an enzyme of phosphatidylcholine synthesis senses lipid packing in the nuclear membrane.
