Abstract
The standard form of the principle of mathematical induction (PMI) is well known. Here we compare the standard form to the Cauchy's form of PMI. We present some results proved by the Cauchy's form of PMI. Finally we indicate the relation between the two forms of PMI and the well‐ordering principle.
