Abstract
Giving zinc the slip! Cationic triple-decker zinc complexes [Zn2Cp*3]+ [BArF4]− (Cp*=C5Me5; BArF4= B(3,5-(CF3)2C6H3)4, B(C6F5)4; see scheme) were prepared by protonation of [ZnCp*2]. The cations adopt an unusual slipped triple-decker structure and can act as a source of a {ZnCp*}+ entity.
