Abstract
The diffusion process of silver ions in α-Ag 2Te is investigated. It is assumed that silver ions occupy the tetrahedral sites and octahedral sites with different probability. To interprete the value of the Haven ratio by molecular dynamics calculations, a “caterpillar mechanism” theory is used. It is shown that the ratio of the jump frequency of a single jump to that of a cooperative jump increases with the temperature.
