Abstract

The thermodynamic conditions of the dehydrogenation of tetrahydrothiophene were studied. Experiments were carried out with various types of metal, metal oxide and metal sulphide catalyst in order to increase the rate of the equilibrium reaction, under standardized conditions. Experiments were carried out using a suitable catalyst to determine the kinetics of the reaction. According to the calculations, the rate-determining partial process is the surface reaction.
