Abstract

Purpose of the study: To directly compare the effectiveness of 1 person over the head (OTH) cardiopulmonary resuscitation against 2 person standard cardiopulmonary resuscitation (S-CPR) while being performed in a moving emergency ambulance. Cardiac arrest patients in all parts of Ireland are regularly transported to hospital while being resuscitated by paramedics. In many cases, all aspects of the resuscitation effort will be managed by one paramedic while the other one drives the emergency ambulance vehicle.
