Abstract
The reaction of perfluorobut-2-ene with octacarbonyldicobalt has given the very stable complex Co4(CO)12(C4F6)2 which readily reacts with PPh3, AsPh3, and (Ph2PCH2)2 to give the complexes Co2(CO)6C4F6(PPh3)2, Co2(CO)6C4F6(AsPh3)2, and Co2(CO)6C4F6(Ph2 PCH2)2. With the phosphine and arsine complexes of zerovalent platinum and palladium, the fluoro-olefin gives Pt(PPh3)2C4F8, Pt(AsPh3)2C4F8, and Pd(PPh3)2C4F8. Infrared and nuclear magnetic resonance spectra of these complexes are given and discussed with respect to the structures.
