Abstract

Carbon footprint is the CO2 emissions of the energy consumption, used to measure the environmental impact when human put carbon to the atmosphere. In this article, the consumptions of CO2 emission, total carbon footprint, the production value of the carbon footprint and ecological pressure of the manufacturing energy in Shanxi, Shaanxi and Inner Mongolia from 2001 to 2010 are estimated by using the IPCC method and the related concepts of carbon footprint. The results indicated that the energy consumptions of CO2 emission, the carbon footprint of manufacturing energy, the production value of carbon footprint of energy and the ecological pressure in Shanxi, Shaanxi and Inner Mongolia increased rapidly from 2001 to 2010. The results also show that the environmental Kuznets curve did not appear in this STIRPAT model of carbon footprint.
