Abstract
The carabid and staphylinid beetles in two vineyards at Villafranca and S. Floriano (Verona, Northern Italy) were collected by pitfall trapping and the results were analysed and discussed. The high diversity is referred to the closeness of reservoirs of diversity. The analysis of species/abundance graphs is considered more meaningful than the diversity indices for very unstable biotopes.
