Abstract
We study the lateral diffusion of proteins in the outer membrane of a biological cell. The “Bretcher” lipid flow field can sweep these particles together into a single cap, provided the flow is strong enough. We analyze the effect of the excluded volume of the proteins on the structure of the cap.
