Abstract

ABSTRACT This study evaluates the degree of high-quality rural development in China’s 31 provinces from 2012 to 2020 from five aspects, employing CRITIC method. On this foundation, this paper investigate the impact of agricultural financial support on high-quality rural development (HQRD) using a fixed effects model. The research findings indicate that agricultural financial support promotes industrial prosperity and affluent living, thereby driving HQRD. The mechanism of this impact is that financial support can encourage the construction of rural infrastructure, the expansion of rural technological innovation, and the enthusiasm for rural entrepreneurial activities. The paper provides relevant suggestions for the areas that the government should focus on when using financial support to promote HQRD.
