Abstract
The formation of ettringite (C 6A S − ·32H) in diluted water suspensions was studied. The solid components were taken in mole rations 1:8:6 (C 4A 3 S − , C S − H 2 and CS respectively). The reaction rate, in the first period of hydration, depends on the granulometry of C 4A 3 S − . It is independent on the granulometries of C S − H 2 and CH. Results indicates that the ettringite forms topochemically, by heterogenous nucleation, on the active sites of solid surfaces.
