Abstract

Calibrations are provided to relate near infrared reflectance (NIR) data to total N concentration in potato leaves, stems, and tubers, estimated by Dumas combustion. Separate calibrations are necessary for each tissue-type. the NIR models simulate Dumas [N] estimates accurately, quickly and cheaply and have been shown to be stable. The methods of deriving the calibrations, correcting them and then providing independent tests are described.
