Abstract

Expressions were obtained for the angular velocity of the geometric and phase shift between the vanes of a mass flowmeter which permit calculation of these characteristics with consideration of the moments from the viscous friction forces of the medium being measured. Equations (12) and (14) make possible selection of the optimal values of the main geometric parameters of the transducer: through diameter, pitch of helix and length of blades, and end gaps between the jet rectifiers and vanes for which linearity of the characteristic, maximum accuracy of the mass flowmeter, and independence of its readings from a change of viscosity of the medium being measured are provided. The graphic dependence of ratio T1/T2 on parameters D/T2 andl 1/l 2 makes possible determination of the rational area of use of mass flowmeters of the given type in which an acceptable accuracy of measuring the flow rate can be achieved.
