Abstract

The Tsumeb occurrence is an irregular pipelike body of metallized pseudo‐aplite within a sequence of dolomites. The metal distribution, and hence the density, is quite irregular and mining has taken place, off and on, for about 70 years. From recorded metal distribution data, the densities are computed and a Fourier transform approach used to compute the gravity anomaly of the variable density, three‐dimensional body, as it would have appeared prior to mining. The result is useful in defining a target anomaly for continuing exploration for similar bodies in that area.
